One of the most popular investment opportunities in Moscow is definitely in the off plan market of new build properties. These are large blocks being built in all areas of Moscow, they are of outstanding architectural merit and are often gated premises incorporating many features, such as, full 24hour security, car parks, swimming pools and fitness centres.

On average they are 20 to 30 story buildings, the flats are 1, 2, 3 or four rooms all with balconies and are sold as "Shell and Core" which means completely unfinished, only with windows. All essential services are provided and the reception areas completed. Units can be sold on at any time during the construction period without fitting out and are appreciating by up to 50% per annum.

Purchase terms vary but usually require 30% deposit and the balance over six months. Prices at start up range from $800 to $1800 sq.m. depending on the area.
